Is opening a Webster account online simple?
Yes! You can complete an account application online in minutes.
What do I need to open my account?
All you need is a smart phone, your contact information, driver's license, passport or state I.D. and Social Security Number.
How do I know if I can open an account online?
To open an account online, you must reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont and be at least 18 years of age.
While I am choosing to open my account online, will I ever have to visit a location in person?
While you can open your account online if you reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont, there may be certain account maintenance functions that must be completed inside of a Banking Center. Please be aware that our Banking Centers are only located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island. View our full list of Banking Centers.
Where can I view disclosures?
Can I order checks through this account opening experience?
While you are currently unable to process check orders directly through the digital account opening experience, you can order checks via:
  • Online by visiting the Harland Clarke website, Webster Bank’s authorized check printing partner
  • Phone by calling your Personal Banking Client Services team at 800.325.2424
  • In Person: by speaking with a Relationship Manager or Banker at one of our full-service banking centers
NOTE: Once you have placed your first order and you do not require any changes, you can always reorder checks1 online at any time.
