Chris Motl is Senior Executive Vice President and President, Commercial Bank at Webster Bank, a leading commercial bank with more than $71 billion in assets. Chris leads all of Webster’s Commercial Banking verticals including Commercial Real Estate, Commercial & Industrial, Sponsor & Specialty Finance Group and Equipment Finance, Asset Based Lending, Treasury Management, Middle Market, Business and Private Banking groups.

He joined Webster in 2004, as the co-founder of the company’s Sponsor & Specialty Finance Group. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2018 and responsible for leading the continued expansion of Commercial Banking. His role further expanded in 2020, with the alignment of Business Banking into Commercial Banking. Prior to joining Webster, Chris worked at CoBank as vice president.

Chris serves on the board of Special Olympics of Connecticut and the Travelers (Golf) Championship. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
